Waste Heat Power Generation Project in Saudi Arabia Successfully Connected to Grid

PublishDate:2026-02-05 Source:Sinoma EC Engineering Branch

On February 4th, 2026, at 15:16, the 13MW waste heat power generation project for Riyadh Cement Company in Saudi Arabia, constructed under EPC contract by Sinoma Energy Conservation Ltd., was successfully connected to the grid for the first time.

After the unit was put into operation, all operating parameters comprehensively exceeded design indicators, with stable system performance and reliable conditions. This marks a significant phased breakthrough in the project’s construction and sets another important milestone for the company’s deepening presence in the Middle East’s green energy market and expansion of overseas industrial energy conservation business.

The project innovatively employs internationally mature Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) waste heat power generation technology, precisely tailored to Saudi Arabia’s high-temperature and arid climate conditions. It efficiently recovers low-grade waste heat from cement kilns and converts it into clean electricity, enabling highly efficient energy recycling. This successful grid connection not only fills the gap in Sinoma Energy Conservation Ltd.’s application of ORC technology in Saudi Arabia’s cement industry but also aligns deeply with Saudi Arabia’s "Vision 2030" green and low-carbon development strategy, injecting strong momentum into the green transformation of the local industrial sector.

Throughout the project’s construction period, Sinoma Energy Conservation Ltd.’s project execution team faced multiple challenges, including differences in Chinese and international standards, construction under extreme climate conditions, and cross-border resource coordination. The team consistently adhered to international engineering safety norms and a comprehensive quality control system, efficiently coordinating the entire process from design, procurement, and construction to commissioning. With robust technical expertise, rigorous contract fulfillment capabilities, and professional overseas engineering service standards, the project team earned full recognition and high praise from Riyadh Cement Company. This fully demonstrates Sinoma Energy Conservation Ltd.’s core competitiveness in providing integrated, full-process services in the overseas industrial energy conservation sector.
